IT WAS METAL - ELS SEGADORS

       
        At last I can announce this to you. It's a job done a few months ago, a collaboration with the American metal band A Sound of Thunder, from Washington DC. 

       His new album It Was Metal has been funded in a kickstarter campaign that included a graphic novel where a lot of artists have made the comics version of each of the songs. My contribution has been the drawing of the song THE REAPERS / ELS SEGADORS, with a script adapted from the lyrics of the song by my friend Marc Gras. And with the spectacular color by Diego L. Parada.

     Soon I will present to you here the images of this first collaboration with A Sound of Thunder.

     And to start the previews, I leave you with this concept colored by Diego, which represents the Reaper Woman, something like the main character of our story Els Segadors set in 1640, in Catalonia. 
   For the Reaper Woman I was inspired by the Belgian model Seffy Moon, who has been my muse in many covers & illustrations. She has also participated in this work!

Artbook: BATMAN Pin-Up WIP

        I'm starting to organize a new Artbook with my current French editor Idées Plus. It will be a very careful edition, I will inform you about this in the coming months. But I can already anticipate that the central theme of this Artbook will be comics & movies heroes.

     For this edition I'm going to gather a lot of material from what I've done in recent years. And I'm also preparing many new drawings that are going to be inside the book.

     Estoy empezando a organizar un nuevo Artbook con mi actual editor francés Idées Plus. Va a ser una edición muy cuidada, os iré informando acerca de esto en los próximos meses. Pero ya puedo adelantar que el tema central de éste Artbook van a ser héroes de comic y cine. 

    Para ésta edición voy a reunir mucho material de lo que he hecho estos últimos años. Y también estoy preparando muchos nuevos dibujos que van a estar dentro del libro.

GEORGES GUYNEMER en BD

      Voici la double édition en album BD pour la biographie de l´as de l´air Georges Guynemer.
     J´ai fait autour la moitié des planches et les dessins pour la couverture de l´édition dans la série Histoires de Pilotes, dans la collection Plein-Vol de chez l´éditeur Idées Plus. Scénario: Eric Stoffel. La mise aux couleurs pour ma couverture est assurée par Diego L. Parada et la colo de la plupart des planches que j´ai fait dans l´album est faite par DC Alonso.

     Ci en bas, au premier lieu, on vous montre mon couverture pour le T9-Histoires de Pilotes.
     Et plus en bas, la couverture pour la spécial édition qu´on sort avec l´Armée de L´Air. C´est le même album, mais avec quelques éléments différents. Dessin de la seconde couverture: Didier Pagot. Mise aux couleurs: DC Alonso.

      Os presento aquí la edición doble del álbum que cuenta la biografía del as del aire francés Georges Guynemer.
      He hecho aproximadamente la mitad de las páginas y los dibujos para la portada de la edición de la serie Histoires de Pilotes, dentro de la colección Plein-Vol de la editorial Idées Plus. El guión es de Eric Stoffel. El color de mi portada es de Diego L. Parada y el color de la mayor parte de mis páginas del álbum es de DC Alonso.

     Aquí debajo, en primer lugar, veréis mi portada para el tomo 9 Histoires de Pilotes.
     Y más abajo, la portada para la edición especial que publica el Ejército del Aire francés. Es el mismo álbum, con algunas diferencias. El color de la segunda portada es de DC Alonso.

      
       

KIRBY & ME

     I recently joined the KIRBY & ME project, organized from France through this website: http://www.kirbyandme.com/

     This is an edition tribute to Jack Kirby, to commemorate the 100 years of the birth of the King of Comics, created by crowdfunding campaign. We have participated more than 150 authors from all over the world.

    Here I present my contribution, the remake of a famous cover of Kirby, which made for The Avengers # 4. I have taken my drawing more towards Kirbynian style (he was one of my biggest influences when I was young) and I added a Local element to the background, replacing the New York skyline with the Sagrada Familia of Barcelona ..

   The color is made by Diego L. Parada. Here I present all the stages of realization of this drawing, from the black and white to the final color. And you can also see at the end, the original version of the cover.

    Recientemente me he unido al proyecto KIRBY & ME, organizado desde Francia través de ésta página web:

   Se trata de una edición homenaje a Jack Kirby, para conmemorar los 100 años del nacimiento del Rey del Cómic, creada mediante campaña de crowdfunding.

   Hemos participado más de 150 autores de todo el mundo. Os presento aquí mi aportación, el remake de una famosa portada de Kirby, la que hizo para The Avengers # 4. He llevado mi dibujo más hacia el estilo Kirbyniano (él fué una de mis mayores influencias cuando yo era joven) y he añadido un elemento local al fondo, sustituyendo el skyline de New York por la Sagrada Familia de Barcelona..

  El color esta hecho por Diego L. Parada. Aquí os presento todas las etapas de realización del dibujo, desde el blanco y negro hasta el color final. Y podéis ver también al final la versión original de la portada.

     Voici le step by step pour le dessin de couverture de l´album HISTOIRES DE PILOTES-T9 - Georges Guynemer.

     Au premier lieu on vous montre les 2 roughs (les deux à la taille A3) que j´ai fait en recherche couverture, en suivant les idées de mon scénariste Eric Stoffel:

     On a tranché pour la première compo (le premier dessin, le plus en haut).
     On décalque après, toujours avec plusieurs ajustements para rapport au rough.
    Voici ce que ça donne la version crayonné sans foncer:

         On fonce et on finie le trait (crayonné foncé, pas encrage):

      Mème avant passer à la colo numérique, Eric Stoffel nous a fait ce essai en guide palette couleurs:
